If you don't like to rummage, this isn't for you. However you are 100% missing out.
I Charity shop because its the right thing to do, I rummage because its fun and Im saving for a house. I want to show you some of the amazing things I have picked up from bargain buckets and sale rails in charity shops and give you my top tips and some of the pro's and con's. I know what your thinking 'How can there be a con?!" but there is a couple.

I have a couple of places that I go where I know I can pick up super cheap clothes, the main one being the Barnardo's donation station and discount store in Weston Favell, Northampton. This place is amazing, they have actual HUGE buckets full to the brim of anything you can imagine. These buckets can be anything from 49-99p and item and I always find something I like. You can find your closest shops here http://www.barnardos.org.uk/shop/shop-search.htm
The two vintage shirts above were both 49p and I found them at the bottom of the buckets, I brought them the same day I picked up the lilac dress above. I love patterns so when rummaging I look for patterns or materials. Be sure to really dig deep and you will find some really interesting stuff. It is the perfect place for people who are;
1) on a budget.
2) wanting to re work some clothes or looking for material.
3) experimenting with clothes!
I don't have children but I also think it is a great place to go to clothe your ever growing children. I do try and see how good the quality is of the children's clothes but would be lying if I said I had a clue, so you will have to check it out for yourselves.
So here's my con's with this place, I am now starting to look at stuff priced in charity shops like whaaaaa thats to expensive when really its only a fiver and thats normal and still very cheap. It's also very easy to get carried away, I have to constantly say to myself 'do I really need this' because I feel guilty if I buy something and don't wear it when there is someone out there who would have loved it and actually really can only afford clothes at this price. I suppose these are things personal to me, so in the grand scheme of things not that bigger cons.

The second place which has a brilliant sale rail is DAPP which is right in the centre of Northampton. This place is strange, is the greatest of ways. It's up there price wise, some stuff I would say is really expensive however tucked in at the back is a £1 rail which is the holy grail for the weird and the wonderful. It's always full of slip dresses which are popular at the moment so I pick them up on occasion because they are so easy to wear. You also find a lot of vintage on there as well, today I picked up a pair of Levi's for a quid. Granted my arse is to fat to get into them but my sister will benefit from my carbohydrate addiction once again. This place is perfect for festival wear or statement pieces, again I brought a waist coat from there which is pretty in your face but will be worn with Pride.
Trousers £1, Shirt £1 both DAPP
So top tips are;
1) Don't be lazy - if you walk past the rail or the bucket, you lose.
2) Check labels, again picked up some Calvin Klein jeans for 49p.
3) Seasons aren't really a thing when its on sale, I just brought a woollen coat and it was 26 degrees this weekend - but the coat was 49p and I know next year I will wear it loads.
4) Think do I really need this?
5) Think Do I know someone that would love this if I don't wear it? Me and my sisters clothes share all the time and if your lucky enough to be my friend (hahaha joking but also true) you often get given clothes and shoes or at least first dibs before I re donate. ALSO a nice thing to do is ask your friends what they have been looking for, if you see something pick it up, if its 49p you probably owe them that money from when you had to borrow change for the car park five years ago or for the round you skipped out on at the pub last week.
6) DONATE DONATE DONATE, what goes around comes around bitches.

Thanks for reading and remember to keep hash tagging #asseenonsomeoneelse.
