Christmas trees & party poppers all cleaned up and just like that it’s a new year. A lot has happened in this last year. I started Sauver, worked with some amazing charities & local creatives. I brought my first home and renovated it. It’s been busy, but I am so grateful that we have had the opportunities we have had. This by no means a brag but sometimes you have to take a step back and appreciate your achievements and biting the bullet and starting Sauver is one of them.

It took me a while to build up the confidence to get going with Sauver & I have learnt a lot. I didn’t and still don’t want it to be some lifestyle & fashion thing where I promote messages and products I don’t believe in. I don’t have any aspirations of profiting out of it, I enjoy working with charities and other likeminded people. Looking back on 2018, I achieved everything out of Sauver that I wanted to so it only seems right to set my sights for 2019.

I want to collaborate with more charities and learn more but also this year I want to promote creatives and local businesses. All this bollocks coming through social media endorsing big companies and telling you your teeth aren’t white enough or you have to have the next big thing or you won’t be instagramable. Let’s boycott it all, share those on Instagram who deserve to be shared. Those who inspire you rather than who you aspire to be, creators, makers & thinkers, ya get me?! To me secondhand fashion fits under the same umbrella, its all part of some sort of movement. A fuck the system movement. I am excited to see where that will lead - at the moment I have no idea where to start but get in contact if you would like to do a guest blog post for Sauver.

I also want to experiment with Sauver and video. Ever since doing the mini documentary with bad apple it has boosted my confidence and I felt that I could get over what it is I wanted to say better. Also lets face it, the way we consume social media is changing. People don't have time for blogs, they hardly have time for videos but a single image doesn't do as much as I want it to. Let me know your thoughts, whether it be hauls or taking you guys charity shopping with me or anything really - what would convert someone to charity shopping or what would you like to know.

There has been a big shift on my instagram from fashion to interiors. I am going to carry on with both of them because well, thats my jam. It would be interesting to talk with others who have renovated houses and furnished with secondhand or crafters who upcycle secondhand. Im planning to update some of the bits I have picked up for the house so will also share that with you.

As long as I don't get caught up In the instagram whirlwind, I will be sound. I'm proud of what I have done, regardless how small it may seem to other people.

2019, let's be having' ya.
