Recently I have been super busy working 2 jobs, trying to buy a house and blogging which is all fun but it means that I have to grab every opportunity I have to spend some Q time with the boyf. When we saw Yonaka were playing in Camden and the tickets were cheap we jumped on the train. To say we spent less than 24 hours in London is an understatement.
I am the most unorganised person on the planet but when your away for one night you have to be. I took 2 charity shop outfits, I wore the same outfit for a day at work, to travel in and go to the gig. Yes, I am rank but also do not give a shit. Ive learnt my lesson about making an effort for a gig, I get sweaty and covered in beer, so whats the point?! Honestly when you stop making an effort and just wear your comfy's you have way more fun. The first outfit was consisted of my sisters charity shop yellow jacket which she picked up from DAPP for like £4, my harbour sharks Tee from the RSPCA and my new pink tartan scarf from Cancer research. My mum hates the colour clash, I love it.

EASY outfit for a long day, don't fret I applied fresh deodorant and perfume.
For the second day which we just mulled about the charity shops in Camden and got the train home, I cracked out the new vintage paisley skirt from cancer research. I popped into the Cancer research on sheep street the day before and found this amazing skirt for £2. It was really long, so I shortened it by hand that night. To be fair I reckon I could take a bit more off but we shall see.

I am by no means a skilled seamstress but I can't stress how easy it is to shorten a skirt or dress. I have used sewing machines but they are a whole load of faff so I do most of it by hand. Some people may scoff at my lack of technique but If you like it who gives a shit. Give it a go.
I think its fair to say the pricing on Londons Charity shops are a little higher compared to Northampton's. I googled Camden's charity shops and lucky for me they are pretty much in a row. I picked up a couple of Christmas presents, which were £6 each - for clothing this isn't exactly a hefty price tag but in Northampton they would have been £3 each. It doesn't bother me because the money goes to Charity but just something to bare in mind if your on a budget.
I did find one gem in Oxfam though.

AHHHHHHH I'm buzzing with this Zara dress, I tried it on and everything. IT DID fit but since then I've consumed about 10,000 calories. I found this tucked at the back of a shirt rail and it was only £4.99 which was crazy compared to everything else in the shop. I feel like this is going to be an all rounder for me, seasons aint a thing. Tights when it's cold and bare legged with my Barnardo platforms when warm, done & done. Im actually taking my mum to see Echo & the bunny men next weekend so might wear this and my scope bally boots. The possibilities are endless.
So that was it my friends, we arrived in London at 6pm Thursday and on the train back home by 3pm Friday. Quick turn around but had an amazing time at the Yonaka gig and enjoyed rummaging in Camden.
Peace x
