I have been meaning to put together this post for a while but have been trying to document little bits at a time and also I was a bit nervous about it because, well Im not a guy and don't want to be like 'this is what you should wear'. That is 100% not the case, its just a little demonstration to show that as well has finding great bits for women you can also find great stuff for guys- in fact I think better. I wear a lot of mens clothes because they are comfy and chill so thats kind of how the charity shopping began, I love oversized shirts and at one point that was guaranteed what I would be wearing.

When I met my Boyfriend Chris nearly 4 years ago now its fair to say our shopping styles were very different. This boy has expensive taste. That's not a bad thing, just a pain in the arse thing. Slowly I started buying him good quality shirts from Charity shops and now we are at the point he is more than happy to actually go in with me and look for his own shit. Luckily for me we have similar taste so whats his is also mine.

Shirts in charity shops are the by far the easiest thing to pick up for guys, I have brought Chris loads. I keep an eye out for designer ones for work and found a Jaeger one the other day for a few quid and a Vivienne westwood one in Olney for £13 which is way more than I would spend normally but is like for best - which is comical really. The average price for your casual shirt I would say is between £3 to £5, don't bother buying flannel or checkered shirts from vintage shops, they bump the price up so much. This weekend we have picked up 2 really nice shirts and they were £3 each.

The left shirt was from DAPP for £3 and the second was from Emmaus for £3 also, Im not being funny but these would be triple the price in a Vintage shop. Nothing against them, just you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Big shout out to DAPP actually because I haven't even bothered to look anywhere other than the sale rail in there for the last few months because there prices had got ridiculous but they had loads of shirts for cheap, If your Northampton based go hit it up.

Ain't he a babe. Guess you can wear whatever when ya face is that nice.

Anyway, anyway, anyway, we have gone from shirts to a lot of jackets recently. I haven't got any pictures yet but yesterday at the rummage sale I found an amazing cotton traders wax jacket at the hefty price of a quid and anyone that knows Chris knows that this kid loves a barbour so that came home with us. Once it has aired out (vintage wax jackets have that potent stank about them) and its not fucking sweaty he will crack it out I'm sure.

Jumper;Willen Hospice £4, Shirt; Cancer research £2, Jacket; Sue Ryder £3

The Levi jacket I post a lot on my instagram is actually his from Sue Ryder but I tend to steal it. I don't have any tips on how to find a Levi for cheap, just rummage and eventually the Charity shops odds are in your favour. All the above get up is sourced from Charity shops. I know its the wrong season but jumpers, you can pick up some seriously good knitwear. Last Christmas Salvation Army had a load of Levi and lee cooper jumpers and jeans in brand new which are great for gifts (yep, Chris got one) keep your eyes peeled in the stores for new stock that companies donate.

Shirt & Shorts 49p each from Barnardo's

Okay, so there are a lot of check shirts in this post but what can I say, they are a very prominent part of his wardrobe. The last of the shirts for today is my fave, a 49p bargain from Barnardo's. This store has quickly become my favourite place to shop, I never leave empty handed. The shorts are actually the Calvin Klein Jeans I picked up there a few weeks ago, although they were nice I felt that Chris would get more use out of them as shorts so I cut them up and turned them over. So combined the whole outfit came to 98p, thats crazy.

Age UK; Boot's £7

Finally, I found these desert boots in Age UK. They are originally from Topman but are like brand new. This boy loves shoes and its not often I find any he would like or would wear. Shoes, in my experience, tend to be a bit of a no go for the guys. I don't know why, maybe they just don't receive as many donations.

After 4 years I no longer feel like Im dragging him round charity shops, gone are the days of sending him off to find the box sets of Friends so I could shop in peace.

My top tips would be:

1) SHIRTS are your most fruitful item, check for designer labels for smart and flannel shirts for casual - check the armpits though because no one wants someone else stank.

2) Check Jeans for Levi's and other notable brands, if the cut isn't what you are into try cutting them, get those legs out.

3) Jumpers always.

4) Keep an eye out for Charity shops and well known businesses like Levi or Lee Cooper donating goods to your local stores.

I will keep updating you with some good guys stuff because Im really keen for the dudes to get involved. If you find anything please use the hash tag #asseenonsomeoneelse.
