When it rains it pours, 2 posts one night aren't you lucky. Not gonna lie, the PS4 is out so I am going to seize the moment and be productive.
If you have read my previous posts you will know that we are currently saving to buy our first home and with nearly being moved out of our rental a year we are getting closer - I hope. We have worked so hard and are really excited for the future. As soon as I realised that we were doing this I got all excited and got straight online to hunt for sofas and fridges (yes I am that extra and intense). It has taken every fibre of my being to NOT buy stuff from Charity shops over the last 10 months or so but recently I have thought fuck it. Obviously Im not going crazy but I am starting to collect little bits I see, not actively going out to look for stuff. Chris seems pretty happy with me doing this, I think he knows it gives me more drive to get to where we need to be and if it doesn't fit the property we choose I will re- donate. Its not like I'm spending hundreds and someone else will love it.
So there are a few things I always knew I wanted, okay this is weird now Im typing it. Im definately doing things backwards but I guess thats the way when you Charity shop because there is only one of the thing on the shelf and if you leave it, its gone forever. Shit, that got deep.
First of all I know I want loads of prints, a combination of like Vintage style prints and real art. Not like expensive cray cray Art but like nice local pieces. We decided once that we would like to find something to each new place we go - we will see. Anyway, I found these prints at a car boot, £3 for the pair. Now don't get me wrong I used to LOVE a car boot but when did they get so expensive!? It put me off quite a bit, and I wouldn't have brought them but they are the same print that my grandma had on her place mats which is fucking lame but its the little things.
I am really hoping to have a feature wall of some kind to display all the things I find, If I don't I'm sure they will end up in a downstairs toilet, ain't that the way.
Next up on the pinterest board is the Kitchen, I love open shelves that show off everything you have. My only issue is that Im a messy bitch but I know when I get them I will be to proud to let them get messy. So Naturally I have been finding cute kitchen stuff that would look nice on shelves which aren't built yet in a house I don't own yet.
I love old kitchen bits, but I also am trying to keep it a bit neutral for the time being because I also have loads of stuff from the flat that I love and don't want to get rid of. My friends also make the most beautiful industrial style shelving which is basically the exact thing I want, so as long as my future home has the space, its a go.

This is my box of house stuff, the one random plate matches my set in storage. Its a weird mash up, but I like it. I love the Tea bag jar, in the flat we had mostly kilner jars with some other one off bits so this will match in its own way. The giant circle place mats are also unique, whether they end up on a table or are used as like decorative trays we shall see but they were part of my £3 rummage bag at Emmaus Carlton village in Bedford this weekend as well as the plant pots and random plate.

I have a vison for the mirrors but Im not sure quite what it is yet, sounds odd - is odd. They were £1.50 each from Emmaus again. Serisouly if you can get to Bedford and need house stuff this is your place.
Thinking about it most of this stuff is from Emmaus, I will pop the link for the directions to this place because its amazing, they do great work AND they have a cafe.
The final thing I picked up in Emmaus, I think is my favourite. Its a star sign engraved tray, stay with me it's not as weird as it sounds. Everyone seems to be putting things on trays on pinterest so Im just following the trend but also raising the bar because my tray is the best tray.

See, I told you.
This is before we cleaned it up though. I say 'we', luckily for me it's a weird thing my sister likes to do.

It was only a quid and its not like it will clash with anything else we buy. I might use it for my make up but then again I might use it on a coffee table - the possibilities are endless. Yes I did just say that about a fucking tray.
One last thing I have to show you is ANOTHER mirror I found in cancer research. Unlike the tray this will clash so god knows where it will end up but it was £3 and I loved the pattern around the outside. Yep, they tray is there again BUT its more to block out my half naked torso because who knew taking pictures OF mirrors rather than IN mirrors was so hard.

Im sure I will keep finding more things so will keep you up dated.
