Hello there,

Sorry for the gap in post's I have been super busy with work and just life in general. I have a huge amount of blog posts coming and they are all sitting in my brain waiting, let's hope I get them down before I forget them.

Not to long ago I was approached by Barnardo's through Instagram to do a guest post for there blog, I was so excited to be asked but realised that I hadn't actually been to a Barnardo's in a really long time. We had one in Northampton town centre but it closed so I did some research and found there was one not to far from me. For the blog https://the-thrift.co.uk/mentions/barnardosretail/ I picked up some really cheap and beautiful stuff go over and check it out. Ever since then I keep going back for more and managed to get some amazing bits all for £12.00 ( which is all I had in my purse).

First up was this amazing dress which has been all over my Instagram but to be honest it's my new favourite. I was just about to leave the shop and this caught my eye, it was £2.99 and I loved the pattern. From the label you can tell its vintage, the pattern is really vivid and I love the collar and shoulder detail. The length of the dress wasn't something I would wear as it came down past my knee so I got out my scissors and the sewing machine and now it's perfect.

As well as the dress I picked up an oversized brown faux suede style shirt. I don't know why I was so drawn to it because its hardly show stopping but I liked the fact it had pockets, Im easily pleased. Also the vision I had in my head was like a casual thing with boots and skinny's and all cool but at the time I took the picture I was feeling all muffin shaped. In the summer it will be thrown on to sit in a beer garden I'm sure.

Notice how the pictures just get worse? Its so hard to actually get out and do them! So here are some crappy images of the final couple of things. The shirt below is originally a sainsbury's one. I was drawn to the pattern, the slight ruffle collar and thought it would look really nice under a pinafore for work (how very grown up of me)

As I was about to leave and I spotted the best shirt possibly on the fucking planet. Firstly its HUGE and I love big shirts, secondly it has pockets (notice the theme) and finally I can wear it 2 ways. Its something I wear with jeans to be casual or I can prance about in it after a bath and a leg shave.

I'm really proud of my Barnardo's finds, I don't really have any tips other than to be open minded and rummage.

Let me know if you find any good stuff!

xx
